Dune for Novel Grey
Dune is a sculptural tile designed by Studio Elise Luttik for Novel Grey.
The idea of movement is caught in concrete tiles. Place them in a repetitive pattern to create a dune-like wallscape of rims and edges, turn to compose a cadence of waves with flowy valleys or go random to fully enjoy the sharp lines and soft curves of each sculptural module.
Dune is part feeling, part technique. A single module that - once placed together - opens up a multitude of expressions and possibilities. The result is solid, durable and sustainable concrete that contradictory feels alive, moving and nature-like.
Dune is the result of a collaboration with the new high end brand Novel Grey. Already in 2022 - the first year of their existence - Novel Grey won an award in Milan for their luxurious wall tiles made of sustainable concrete. The raw material is landfill, the cement is made of waste from the metal industry, reducing the carbon footprint by 76%. Curing is done at room temperature, saving on energy as well. Thus Dune wall tiles avoid the high CO2 emissions associated with concrete, while using the positive properties.
Founders of Novel Grey Marjolein and Jan-Paul Deurloo look back on an excellent collaboration. “As a producer, we immediately benefit from Elise’s expertise, experience and insights. After only one in-house session on production process and properties, the perfect prototype emerged in no time. She quickly understands our brand’s style and created a successful product that is just as much her signature as a fitting asset to our collection.”
Dune is a head turner as a statement wall or separate wall sculpture in your home, office or hotel.
